Brandon Hornsby

Known as a "fearless advocate" and a "champion of the underdog," Brandon Hornsby has extensive experience representing the victims of serious personal injury, civil rights violations and consumer fraud.
At the outset of his career, Hornsby honorably served as a state and federal prosecutor, handling many of south metro-Atlanta's highest profile murder cases. From 1994-99, Hornsby held the positions of Senior Assistant District Attorney for the Clayton County District Attorney's Office and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Atlanta, Georgia. As an Assistant District Attorney, Hornsby served as the only trial prosecutor in Georgia to exclusively handle capital murder prosecutions. During his tenure as a prosecutor, Hornsby never lost a murder case. As a result of his courtroom success, Hornsby has been featured as a legal commentator on Atlanta's NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates, as well as ESPN and Court TV.
In 1999, Hornsby entered private practice as litigation counsel for one of Atlanta's most respected defense firms. There Hornsby's clients included national and international businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies, including those in the health, transportation, pharmaceutical, medical device and product manufacturing industries. As litigation counsel, Hornsby acquired extensive experience in the areas of mass torts and complex civil litigation. As a result, Hornsby now is uniquely qualified to represent individuals and small businesses against powerful corporations due in large part to his significant understanding and insight into their decision-making process.
Prior to establishing his own firm, Hornsby worked alongside L. Lin Wood, one of America's foremost plaintiff's attorneys, in some of our Nation's most high-profile cases. In this capacity, Hornsby served as co-counsel for John and Patsy Ramsey in civil litigation arising out the murder of their daughter, JonBenet Ramsey, and Richard Jewell, the Olympic security guard who was wrongfully accused of planting a pipe bomb during the 1996 Centennial Olympics.
Since entering the practice of law, Hornsby has successfully tried over 100 cases to verdict and has frequently argued before the Georgia Supreme Court. Although he has achieved legal victories all across Georgia, the common thread throughout Hornsby's legal career is his unrelenting commitment to his client's cases. Profiled by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Hornsby has been described as a "fearless advocate" for victims whose courtroom skills make onlookers "want to cheer." Hornsby's trial work was described as "restoring faith" by the Clayton News Daily and "commendable" by the Albany Herald. When asked about the inspiring nature of his advocacy, a former client of Hornsby's graciously explained to the Fulton County Daily Report: Brandon Hornsby "gave me a hand up off my knees in a time of great spiritual doubt and allowed me to stand up for my rights and convictions."
For his legal work, Hornsby has received numerous accolades. In 1998, he became the youngest attorney in Georgia history to be named Georgia's Assistant District Attorney of the Year and in 1999 was recognized as one of Georgia's 40 rising stars under 40 years-of-age by Georgia Trend Magazine. Recently, Brandon was selected by the Fulton County Daily Report as one of Georgia's top 10 young lawyers on the rise in 2005.
In 2002, Brandon Hornsby founded Brandon Hornsby, PC, a law firm dedicated to representing the victims of business torts. Brandon Hornsby may be reached by mail at:
